Mineral surfaces with depth: Cosentino unveils ĒCLOS® at its City Center in Munich
With ĒCLOS®, the Spanish surface manufacturer Cosentino introduces a new generation of mineral surfaces — and, with its INLAYR® design technology, establishes a material category of its own for the interior. ĒCLOS® was presented to the German trade audience on 10 September 2026 at the Cosentino City Center in Munich.
The distinction of ĒCLOS® lies in its depth. Unlike surfaces whose décor rests on the uppermost layer, its multi-layered, three-dimensional design is embedded throughout the material body and remains visible all the way to the edge. This is made possible by the proprietary INLAYR® technology, in which robot-assisted fabrication and integrated decoration processes interlock with precision. Cosentino brings this new breed of material together under a term of its own: "Inlayered Mineral Surfaces".
Versatile performance
The result unites design quality with considerable resilience. ĒCLOS® withstands temperatures of up to 220 °C, so that hot cookware can be set down directly from the hob or oven. The surface has been developed for interior use — in particular for worktops in kitchens and bathrooms. According to the manufacturer, more than 28,000 hours of research and development and over 1,500 hours of testing have gone into the material.

At launch, the first collection, Eclectic Veins, is available. Ten colourways — from delicately drawn tones such as Landr and Wondr to expressive variants like Legnd in muted browns, and the deep-black Phantome with its copper accents — translate the principle of continuous veining into distinct spatial moods. Organic markings run across animated grounds and resolve into intricate patterns.
Ohne Zugabe von kristallinem Siliziumdioxid
The collection also makes its mark in composition: the Eclectic Veins formulation comprises up to 88 per cent recycled materials and has been developed without the addition of crystalline silica — an aspect that, above all, addresses safety during fabrication. Trace impurities of less than one per cent, inherent to the production process, cannot be entirely ruled out.

How this materiality feels was something the trade audience could experience at first hand during the launch at the Cosentino City Center in Munich. On 10 September 2026, numerous interior designers, planners and members of the press gathered to see ĒCLOS® and the Eclectic Veins collection for the first time in large-format applications and in real-world settings. The City Center offered a fitting stage on which to bring Cosentino's breadth of products and the distinctive aesthetic of the new surface to life.
With ĒCLOS®, Cosentino extends its portfolio with a category in its own right, alongside its established brands — showing how design depth, tactility and a high proportion of recycled materials can be brought together in the interior.
